Great read! I was a laid-off UAW member in 1980, finishing my undergrad at night at Wayne State University in downtown Detroit. Nobody was hiring, the future looked bleak. Finally, in mid 1982, I landed a corporate position as the Reagan miracle started kicking in, rising steadily over the years until finally retiring comfortably in 2018. If someone had foretold me my next 36 years in 1980, I never would have believed them. I see so many similarities to the current Trump economy that is hard to see when you’re a young, struggling person in the same 1980 position I was in. Share this article and Let’s win the mid-terms!

I’ve been thinking about gas prices. I’m retired and usually fill my tank, ten gallons, about twice a month. If gas were $3 instead of the current $4 I’d save $20. I can’t go out for breakfast for $20. Now if the average working family uses three times as much gas as I do that would be $60/month. To take a family of four out for a modest meal, even fast food would cost more than that. My point is the recent extra cost for a gallon of gas should be at worst a minimal cost and easily overcome with a couple of modest adjustments to spending. A small price to pay in exchange for ridding the world of a potential nuclear Holocaust. Plus Iran started this war 47 years ago and have been killing Americans ever since. Plus plus prices have started falling and the pace will soon increase.
