Seeing What Others Miss
When President Trump announced his submarine buildup in August 2026, I welcomed the plan and examined what it would take to make it real. Long-term orders give shipbuilders a reason to expand production lines and workforces. Stable designs let workers master their jobs. Repair capacity determines how much of the fleet can actually get to sea.
I wrote: “It’s exactly the right plan. It’s also dangerously late.”
Both judgments matter. China’s weaknesses can make its rulers more dangerous while they still have time to act. America has to build enough strength to make that gamble irrational. A sound strategy has to survive the shipyard.

I write from a conviction that the American Republic deserves defending. The American Revolution represents the high point of human thought on government and human freedom. Christianity supplied its moral foundations. Capitalism gives ordinary people a way to improve their own lives, not by plunder but by solving other people’s problems. The Golden Rule underpins it all.
Opposing worldviews believe elites should rule us, “for our own good” of course. But unelected bureaucrats do not acquire the right to govern us because they call themselves “experts.” Their power belongs to the people, and the people must have the power to take it back. That requires understanding how the socialists — and the Deep State they created — have entrenched themselves, who benefits from that, and how we can defeat them.
