Trump’s economy has produced all-time record household income and an all-time record-low poverty rate. Now the Atlanta Fed predicts 5 percent GDP growth. You’d think somebody would notice.
Great read! I was a laid-off UAW member in 1980, finishing my undergrad at night at Wayne State University in downtown Detroit. Nobody was hiring, the future looked bleak. Finally, in mid 1982, I landed a corporate position as the Reagan miracle started kicking in, rising steadily over the years until finally retiring comfortably in 2018. If someone had foretold me my next 36 years in 1980, I never would have believed them. I see so many similarities to the current Trump economy that is hard to see when you’re a young, struggling person in the same 1980 position I was in. Share this article and Let’s win the mid-terms!
I’ve been thinking about gas prices. I’m retired and usually fill my tank, ten gallons, about twice a month. If gas were $3 instead of the current $4 I’d save $20. I can’t go out for breakfast for $20. Now if the average working family uses three times as much gas as I do that would be $60/month. To take a family of four out for a modest meal, even fast food would cost more than that. My point is the recent extra cost for a gallon of gas should be at worst a minimal cost and easily overcome with a couple of modest adjustments to spending. A small price to pay in exchange for ridding the world of a potential nuclear Holocaust. Plus Iran started this war 47 years ago and have been killing Americans ever since. Plus plus prices have started falling and the pace will soon increase.
Completely agree. Moreover, it very much depends on where you live. If you live in a blue state, your gas is a LOT higher than it is here where we don't vote for socialists. And California just shut down two more major refineries SINCE the war started. That does its part to push EVs on a largely unwilling population and also to jack up the national average.
When Donald Trump boasts that a new steel plant is already under construction in Iowa, who better to check the veracity of that claim than the people in Iowa who live where the plant is supposedly being built? Jen Psaki shares examples of Donald Trump making promises on the campaign trail that have no basis in reality as far as the people most closely connected to the news can tell.

Trump just hit an all-time low on inflation: Enten & NewsNight unpack
President Trump's net approval rating on inflation hit -65 points in AP-NORC's cost of living poll Thursday. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten points out that this rating is the record low not only for Trump, but for any president ever. Enten also observes that Trump is the first president to poll below -50% net approval on inflation ever: "Donald Trump is underwater. . .among Democrats, independents, and Republicans as well."
I hear you. I watch and read everything I can, domestic and foreign. It is frequently maddening. Although perhaps the most maddening is sitting in Dubai or Riyadh and watching CNN International only to realize that al Jazeera is significantly more pro-American (and yes, CNN International is a completely different product from domestic CNN, and as bad as domestic CNN is, you'd think it was the Trump campaign compared to their foreign service).
I spoke with a convinced democrat yesterday. While we like each other, the best we could do was agree to disagree. Her talking points were straight from MSNOW. No plant in Iowa, statistics are lies, and she hopes each morning to hear that Trump is 6 feet under. SMH😳🤦🏼♀️
She also told me to stop reading the news, it is too depressing.
I tried to explain that there is another lens, the American System, the strategy that we are seeing unfold. That it was the policy of Alexander Hamilton, Adams, Lincoln and McKinley. That we are in the most creative and free country in the world and we are on fire. Tariffs, investment and growth of American wages and real wealth for average citizens. She waved me off and I finished with a plea for her to examine her priors. She shared how happy she is that we live in a blue state, where her insurance covers her knee replacement and she gets her full salary for two months after the surgery. We live in Portland OR which is uncomfortably blue and pink and green haired. It is tricky to have optimism here. Friends have distanced themselves from me over these issues. Yet I persist in seeing the changes as golden and my temporary pain of $85 a tank for gas as bearable, just.
May we vote for the Golden Age in overwhelming numbers. ☺️
On a related note, Karl Rove is just convinced that Trump is Hitler (as you know), which is especially ironic since he literally wrote a biography of William McKinley. There are none so blind as they who will not see.
That said, Karl was raising (and thus controlling) half a trillion dollars every two years for a decade, until Trump won and screwed it up for him. Once you understand how some of these things work, the "NeverTrump" schtick gets a lot easier to understand (ditto Ann Coulter, George Conway, Andrew Napolitano, et al.).
I shared this on my FB page and dared the people with TDS to read it. I can't believe the stupid comments I get from people in my birth state, crazy California, any time I say something positive about our wonderful president. 🙄 My husband and I escaped six years ago and are now proud Texans.

Absolutely agree. I keep making exactly that analogy. I was 10 in 1980, but my dad was in real estate. I imagine I don't need to say much more.

These guys are just the worst. Meanwhile, they were able to personally attest that Joe Biden was "sharper than ever."
I subscribe because want to know WHAT they are saying.
I do confess that in watching them, Very Often...Words are spoken. Harsh 4 letter words.

It gets Frustrating! Its not that those on the left are stupid, its that they are ignorant. What is worse no desire to learn.
