It certainly should: Alberta is effectively a colony, plundered to pay for Canada's socialist wealth transfer schemes. Now the independence (& perhaps statehood) movement is gaining steam.

It's all interconnected, long-term, overlapping information based political warfare. Who'd have thought that WW3 would start mostly silent with (undeclared) information warfare coupled with sporadic kinetic conflicts initiated mostly by connected cellular terrorist groups? Long-term asymmetric warfare needs to be declared and mass educated so long term strategies can be implemented and maintained and modified to ultimate vicory. Not easily capitulated or reversed by radical politicians that take power during this undeclared national conflict. Democracy should not be the cause of our doom!
Being a Democracy in these long-term non-kinetic information and political influence battles is not an advantage. Political realities hamper our agility and long term strategies to win long term battles. That's a BIG PROBLEM. I love our Democracy, but four-year cycle strategies favored and disfavored depending on which party has power is a BIG problem. Currently, one party vexes and punishes our enemies while another, coddles, rewards, and encourages our enemies, consciously or via weakness and naïveté.
A huge segment of our population has grown liberally (politically correct) weak and allowed our enemies to shape the narratives for far too long. We've let our country be overrun by foreign radicals, parasitic and thieving foreign groups, and now even foreign death squads on our soil—what the hell!
Alas, I greatly appreciate all the truly fantastic, methodical foreign policy strategies underway now, but the cleanup at home needs to be far more aggressive. An, "All hands on deck" mentality --bring in the citizenry like WW2. Put "skin in the game".
Finally, obviously, the CIA and FBI need to locate Chinese communist and jihadist sympathizers, influencers, politicians, and radicals—then arrest them, imprison/deport them, and seize their funds on national security grounds (Operation: Epic GTFO). But this is a multi-administration undertaking. We cannot afford the appeasement and sympathizers anymore. We can't be apathetic and silent anymore. We must be men and women of courage and action and not bitch because we can't see past our billfolds. Sacrifice for future generations is in order.
