If the presence of leftwing antisemitism is explained in part by identity politics, what explains the return of its cruder rightwing cousin — or at least its appearance on high-profile podcasts?
This isn't going to work. We need someone who can actually bring the sides together. It's very basic to draw lines and rely on institutional support and pretend you're doing politics. You risk giving the dialogue to others.
It's honestly not my interest beyond no cancel culture, but I think we need to develop a narrative that is strong like aukus that goes beyond evangelical theology and post war anti Hitler stuff, since we're in the process of rejecting the latter and the former has issues besides most people in the Republican party not being evangelical.
Edit: A narrative that does unite people is a western one, but I think that has to be explored and developed a lot still. If western is fundamentally Christian then it'd help. The judeo-christian phrase (over Anglo Christian previously) still has currency, but there's need to be a lot that ties it together and transcends concerns from people on the right. All the better if that leads into a golden age or some prosperity and a redevelopment of economic systems. There are a lot of things in the air now. You don't have to grab everything, but it does need to be something stable because canceling isn't going to work particularly if there's no great follow-up to Trump.
Edit: We need to move beyond narrative and institutional control for cultural development. That provides strong support against dei since they're culturally inept, hate cultures and reduce cultures into abstract pseudo-moral categories.
Heritage was forced to apologize and I've read articles like that. It's nowhere near what dei did, but the hyping of the "woke right" by that atheist libertarian mathematician and a few other symmetries makes it look similar to the dei playbook and we shouldn't expect it on the right. I don't think it's appropriate to them nor to the republican party.
Do you really want to have people like Nick Fuentes, On Your Side? You really want to be allied with Candace Owens? You really want to stand with someone (Tucker Carlson) who treats Anti-Semites with kid gloves but Attacks Ted Cruz?
It's not really them. Tbf, I don't think Fuentes even likes maga and is doing his own thing mostly but is more in proximity to the right. I have no idea since I haven't watched Fuentes since his debate with Atheism is unstoppable. The bigger point is that a lot of people are questioning this and it's a lot of the youth. The jews or nazis may or may not be involved in it, but it's more how they feel they've been dealt a bad hand in the old post war narrative that has called for them to be killed and then started killing them on the same charges. It's too small picture to be looking for a stooge to cancel for wrong think. It makes more sense to get a handle on the dialogue and avoid some egregious errors that academics like to play around with.
As it looks, Kirk was questioning a bit about Israel and he's pretty middle of the road as far as maga goes and he has reach. Not a bad litmus test for what the kids are thinking.
They're also sincerely Christian so I'm a bit biased and don't want them canceled. Sincere Christianity is my only redline.
Yeah, I've definitely read that he got in a semi argument with Trump about attacking Iran and some questions about Israel. Nothing remotely nazi, he was very Christian, but obviously there's a discussion to be had.
I don't watch videos nor deal with irrelevant clickbait. The articles in question I assume you've found. If you'd like to discuss that then I will, but it's besides the main point.
what's not working is acceptance that Qatar Carlson, MeAgyn Kelly, Candance, or any other Jew demonizing liars are anything but infiltraitors, clickbait profiteers for foreign US hating entities for their own personal profit. Most of them spent years voting dem until they smelled the millions pouring in from Qatar, CCP & other US haters to sell their brand of hate for Western values/culture that we share w Israel/Jews, our ONLY ally in the M.E. Shun them & anyone from their bot farms propping up their lies. Let companies who sponsor them know why you won't buy their products. Money speaks louder than words.
That was very nice but that was actually the beginning of a discussion and not local council tell-all for frustrated citizens after a day becoming edgy off of candy and adjacent fox news YouTubers.
It’s sickening to see Tucker and others turning against Israel, I read The Dragons Prophecy which helped me to understand the why, Satan is deceiving and using people I once thought could not be corrupted. The saved in Christ must guard their faith and oppose the evil.
A tremendous piece by Victor Davis Hanson! Thank you for republishing this outstanding piece from The Free Press, Dr. Martin! The New Antisemitism on the left and right is quite shocking and appalling. But the birth of left-wing antisemitism is easy to understand. It comes from identity politics, "humanitarian" outrage over Israel's "genocide" in Gaza and old Soviet propaganda about Israel being the big bad colonial oppressor of the poor, helpless Palestinians. This is embodied by Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine Graham Platner, who had a tattoo of the Totenkopf a Nazi symbol which was the emblem of the SS's Third Panzer Division, on his chest. Platner was never able to provide a satisfying explanation as to when or why he got the disgusting tattoo and was forced to cover it up. But no one in the Democratic Party seemed to have a problem with this. Left-wing antisemitism is rampant on many college campuses and is embedded within the base of the Democratic Party. But what explains the return of its even cruder right-wing cousin? Some prominent examples of the newly resurrected right-wing antisemitism that conservative leaders like William F. Buckley, Jr. did so much to bury in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, would include faux "historian" Darryl Cooper and live streamer Nick Fuentes. Cooper has absurdly claimed that the Nazis in 1941 didn't really intend to either murder or starve hundreds of thousands of Jews, Russians and Ukrainans, they just didn't have enough food for them.
This despite the fact there is a treasure trove of documents refuting this. It was premeditated mass murder by the Nazis, no two ways about it! Nick Fuentes has a long list of different offenses from praising Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin to calling for a holy war against the Jewish people to denying the Holocaust. But yet, Tucker Carlson says nothing. He doesn't push back against them, cross-examine them or refute their nonsense as William F. Buckley, Jr. did with loons like Eldridge Cleaver, Huey Newton, George Wallace, and William Shockley on his groundbreaking show Firing Line. Carlson simply lets them rattle on about whatever they want but if a guest disagrees with him such as Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, all of a sudden, he's Diane Sawyer and pelting them with tough questions. There are several reasons we've seen the rebirth of right-wing antisemitism which Professor Hanson masterfully lays out here. The first reason ironically, was provided by the left. The left has mainstreamed anti-Semitism on many college campuses under the guise of "antizionism" and "social justice", and radical leftists and Jihadist Brownshirts run around harassing and attacking Jewish students with no consequences. The antisemites on the right see this and senses they can get away with this too. The DEI creed teaches that Jews are evil-white oppressors of people of color and that Israel is an evil settler-colonial state. The antisemites on the right took this to mean they could freely voice hatred for the Jewish people and some on the left would welcome their views and that many on the right would keep quiet either because of a desire for ideological unity, feeling antisemitism is a distraction or be reluctant to endanger pass friendships and associations.
Third, due to assimilation into the broader American population and the end of Jewish immigration, Jews are not the powerful constituency in American politics they once were. So, you can't really talk about the "Jewish lobby" anymore just as the talking point of the "Greek lobby" has faded into oblivion. Meanwhile, the Arab and Muslim populations in this country have skyrocketed to 3.7 million and only continues to increase and are projected to surpass the 7.5 million Jews within the next decade. They are a crucial electorate as they have tended to coalesce in swing states such as Michigan, New Jersey and Virginia and many are antisemitic or anti-Israel. Last but not least, the civil war going on within MAGA between Jacksonians who believe in a neorealist and internationalist foreign policy like Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton and neo-Isolationists like Steve Bannon, Tucker and Marjorie Taylor-Greene. For now, the latter have lost out politically. This is because Donald Trump has proven himself to be a staunch Jacksonian and staunchly pro-Israel. He has assisted in weakening the U.S. and Israel's greatest enemies in the Middle East, Iran and its terrorist proxies. He's been quite effective at doing so: he has systemically neutered Iran's nuclear program, hit the Houthis hard in Yemen, destroyed ISIS and killed its leader the evil Abu Al-Bakr Baghdadi, killed monstrous Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, and has greenlighted Israeli retaliation, all without reverting to Neoconservatism, doing nation-building or getting us into forever wars.
Neo-Isolationist blame Israel, the Jewish lobby and Christian Zionists for confusing and manipulating Trump and dragging us into Israel's messes rather than just admitting Trump has always been and always will be, a Jacksonian through and through. They blame Jewish donors, Christian Zionists and Trump's Jewish advisors like top White House Advisor Stephen Miller, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and EPA director Lee Zeldin. Nonetheless, Trump's calibrated interventions have been both successful and mostly popular with the American people, especially concerning Israel. Since they can't argue with these results, they blame these folks and try to use (distorted and incomplete) American history to prove their point. They are not unlike the old America First Movement including the likes of Charles Lindbergh and Father Charles Coughlin. They also will claim we are especially vulnerable to Jewish influence. They'll sometimes cite World War II. They blame FDR's Jewish advisors for getting him to make the "foolish" decision to ally with the Soviet Union in WWII to "wrongly" fight against "misunderstood" and "demonized" Nazi Germany. Meanwhile, Jews at home and British pro-Zionists and imperialists abroad agitated for America to join against the Nazis as well. In this incoherent narrative, we tragically backed the wrong horse in Israel and alienated hundreds of millions of Middle Eastern Muslims and their vast oil wealth. Never mind, Islamism, Arab Socialism, rampant Arab antisemitism, Arab collaboration with the Nazis during WWII, and the Holocaust in North Africa. They also say the Cold War and Nuclear Armageddon happened because we didn't team up with Hitler and his henchman, oh mercy me!
Meanwhile, the great Winston Churchill was a terrorist who bombed German cities for no reason. Never mind, they rightly did so in retaliation for the Blitz and they their American allies were fighting for freedom and democracy. Meanwhile, Nazi, Italian and Japanese war crimes are completely ignored. They never talk about the meticulously planned Holocaust, the Nazi and Imperial Japanese slaughter of civilians and prisoners of war, the Italians using poison gas against the people of Ethiopia and engaged in mass executions and ethnic cleansing in Yugoslavia, and the starvation and murder of some 30 million Chinese and Russian civilians. The brilliance and courage of the 12 million strong American liberation military in defeating its enemies in the span of just in the span of less than four years is expunged from the historical record. Right-wing antisemites have become indistinguishable from their left-wing and Islamist counterparts. They lie, omit facts, twist 20th Century history, and smear Israel to justify themselves. Here is what must be done, the MAGA Movement and the Republican Party must expel antisemites, groypers, neo-isolationists, white supremacists, white nationalists, and libertarians from their ranks if they want to continue to succeed as a political movement and counter the ever-growing radicalism of the Democratic Party which has been taken over by progressives and leftists. These conspiracy theorists and bigots like Dave Smith, Jake Shields, Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson, MTG, Tim Pool, Richard Spencer, and Darryl Cooper can return to the Libertarian and Constitution Parties and the fringes of the far-right where they belong!
Tucker and others are not anti Israel. They are America first. You are only creating division in the conservative movement, very sad. When Americans ask valid questions and get called antisemite, you are not helping your position. Instead of name calling try promoting the merit of your position and answer the questions based on merit.
It occurs to me that we need to spread education on World War II, the Holocaust and the 20th Century now more than ever. So here’s a reading list for Dr. Martin’s audience and to pass to their families and friends so that they don’t fall down the rabbit hole too:

The discussion was ended in 1945. Evil Jew haters LOST. End of story. They aren't 'edgy', they're retards. Why listen to them?
Yes, the nazis and modernist german romantic nationalism did. The conversation wasn't about them.
