What is your opinion of what’s been going on in the Senate with the gathering in and gathering out to prevent Trump from appointing recess appointments. I have a whole list there’s some Republicans that have done it three and four times some that I’ve only done it once. But Josh Holly did it on memorial Day and then said a blessing for the fallen which really made my stomach turn. Tom Cotton‘s done it Rick Scott’s gonna do it tomorrow
Completely agree. What they're doing is shameful. But after what Trump just did to Cornyn and Cassidy, however much trouble they may give him the rest of this year, the point is likely to be indelible going forward.
An excellent segment on the Stephen Gardner Show with Dr. Martin! Where to start? So much was covered here! Okay, I think President Trump is right to play hardball with the Europeans. If the British, French, Germans, Italians, and Spaniards want NATO to stay together and for the United States to keep being their ally, they need to get out of the basement, stop living off daddy’s money and stand on their own two feet. Pay your fair share into NATO, raise military spending dramatically and increase the size of your militaries! We’re not gonna be here every minute to hold your hand nor should we be expected to be! Germany’s got broomsticks for rifles? Britain’s got more admirals than ships! Unacceptable! This can not go on! The United States should get our troops out of Germany, Italy and Spain and redeploy them in Poland, the Baltic States and Morocco. The Rammstein Base is outdated and outmoded, close it down. Those are countries who actually need our protection. God bless Poland, Sweden and little Estonia! They are such great allies! Starmer, Macron, Merz, Meloni, and Sanchez all have to go. The European Union is slowly dying.
It whining about lost revenue is just pathetic! Cry me a river you guys! Maybe if you modernized, became more transparent, did a better job with PR, were more pragmatic in your goals, didn’t restrict free speech, and woke up and realized globalization has reached its limits and the rebirth of nationalism is a fact of life, you wouldn’t be in this mess. Brexit in retrospect, was the right decision. Period. End of story. The European Union must comprehensively reform if it is to survive into the next century. Oh by the way guys, start working on having more babies! As to the UAE, their an excellent ally! They want peace and stability. Thus why they normalized relations with Israel, condemned October 7th, teach Holocaust education, made numerous applaudable reforms, and left OPEC. OPEC’s death is on the horizon! This evil monopoly has been jacking up oil prices for decades. Now that stops! America building oil refineries is a big deal as well. We will in time, have the capacity to sell oil and natural gas to our allies so they don’t have to buy from Russia. Economic indicators to this point look most promising indeed. I hope an economic boom is on its way soon.
Callais v. Louisiana was the right decision, period. Voting districts should be never be assigned based on race! The color of one’s representative in Congress doesn’t matter, their merits do! I don’t care if the person who represents me in Congress is white, black, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Alaskan Native, Pacific Islander, Arab, Turkish, or Persian as long as they are qualified! Racism in America is still around. But nowhere near what it once was. Racist science has long been discredited. Jim Crow laws, lynching, poll taxes, grandfather clauses, literacy tests, red lining, medical experiments, housing covenants, and race massacres like Tulsa in 1921 are all thankfully, things of the past. The Ku Klux Klan is weak, splintered and has only 5,000 members. Theodore Bilbo, Pitchfork Ben Tillman, George Wallace, Storm Thurmond, Ross Barnett, Orval Faubus, Lester Maddox, and A. Willis Robertson are all dead. Discriminatory national origin quotas on non-European immigration were wiped out fifty years ago. The Chinese Exclusion Act is a relic of a more barbaric and primatial time in American history. The Zoot Suit Riots are not going to bust out again tomorrow.
The vast majority of non-Hispanic white Americans are not racist. Barack Obama was elected twice by a majority white electorate. A majority white electorate elected outgoing black Republican Congressman Wesley Hunt in Texas. Interracial marriages are happening at record rates. A black man Victor Scott, just went to the moon. The income gap between the average white man and the average black man is closing. If black America were a nation it would be the 15th wealthiest nation in the world. There are over a million black managers out there in the business world. Black women have closed the social mobility gap with white women. The percentage of young black people going to prison is going down and the percentage of young black people who say they are better off than their parents has gone up. In a 1997 TIME/CNN poll when black teenagers were asked if racism was a big, small or not at all a problem in their daily life, most responded one of the latter two options. When asked what was the biggest issue facing black Americans failure to take advantage of available opportunities or racism, most of the teens responded with the former.
