For years we’ve been told to cool it with the comparisons of abortion to ancient paganism. But now, an Indiana judge has ruled that abortion is a legally-protected religious ritual.
Living in Indiana, this comes as no surprise. Lately our leaders twist like pretzels to accommodate the assinine. Few of our conservative leaders lead conservatively, and it only goes downhill from there. Marion county, once full of blue dog Democrats has become demonically oppressed in recent years and has elected their first socialist. Our leaders are more concerned about keeping up steady growth than maintaining values. Please pray for Indiana.
Of course the judge made that decision. I can think of one good reason why: God has removed his hand of protection from our country because over several decades, a majority of citizens (and non-citizens as well) have rejected Him and gone after other gods, including themselves.
In my yearly read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, I'm currently in II Kings, which covers the latter decline of Judah and Israel following the golden age of Kings David and Solomon. There were a few good kings in that period who followed the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, but even those didn't completely remove all the trappings of false god worship.
I also believe that for those who reject the truth, God will send a strong delusion allowing them to believe the lie. I thinks that's what has happened to nearly half of our population.
Without a sweeping revival led by the Holy Spirit, I fear for what this country will hold for my children and grandchildren. Which is why I have been praying for such a revival since mid-2023.
I am more optimistic: that same Bible -- which I am SO happy you read cover to cover every year!!! -- shows us that reform doesn't come until bad things happen. Hopefully this will wake some people up and positive action will result. That is certainly my prayer, but also my work.
My parents believed during the great Depression that life began at birth, so mom had a couple of abortions and two live births. My brother and I have both been president of state wide organizations connected to our livelihoods. (Politicians would ask us how to take care of business). I believe that moms wondering in later life what the others might have achieved led to her extreme bitterness. Ray Lane
I come to this excellent piece by Jeff Maples and republished by Dr. Martin from an interesting vantage point. I’m pro-choice up to the first trimester with exceptions for rape, incest, the life of the mother, and fetal abnormality after that. I support federal funding for Planned Parenthood and comprehensive sexual education being taught in public schools. I opposed the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court. But I must concur completely with Mr. Maples here. I think as a society we’ve become too cavalier about abortion to some extent. Let me be absolutely clear, I am NOT as a pro-choice person someone who believes in abortion on demand! I believe it should it safe, legal and rare! I also believe that abortion shouldn’t be celebrated, it should be treated as the solemn thing it is. I also would be just as happy if the woman chooses to keep the baby. I don’t want the unborn baby to suffer if it’s not necessary. This Indiana court’s ruling is absolutely shocking! First off, abortion is NOT a religious belief! Not in any way, shape or form! It is not covered by the first amendment of the Constitution!
Second, if one can argue abortion is a religious belief, they can also argue human sacrifice is. Just like the pagans of the Bible who worshipped Molech. I don’t think these judges realize just how dangerous the door they’ve just opened is. Nor do “Hoosier Jews for Choice” seem to grasp this either. The court is essentially saying that religious freedom is more important than the state’s duty to protect children. This is a monstrous argument that I as a pro-choice person reject wholeheartedly and all of us should regardless of where we might stand on this issue. I say shame on the state of Indiana! Shame on “Hoosier Jews for Choice!” As a pro-choice individual, I want nothing to do with them. There appears to be no lengths they won’t go to to get what they want. Even if it means setting dangerous legal precedents, putting children at risk and trivializing abortion.
Now allow me to speak from a religious perspective as a pious Lutheran. I believe that God considers abortion a serious issue that we should deal with in a thoughtful and nuanced way and with sensitivity. That is how I would encourage all Christians regardless of what stance they take on the issue, to approach it. Don’t do what this Indiana Court has done and treat it as small potatoes. The lives of unborn babies are very much not! This ruling needs to be reversed! It’s just wrong! Period. End of story. The state should put protecting unborn children before religious freedom. Also, again I’m for abortion being legal but it should never be legal after the first trimester and certainly not up to the moment of birth! I don’t care how rare they are, they should never be allowed! At the end of the day I do believe women have the right to bodily autonomy, but I also believe an abortion is the termination of a life. Unless it’s early on in the pregnancy or it is absolutely necessary, the baby should be allowed to live and be born.

Dark days. Our judiciary is a radical mess around the country it seems, or maybe just the blue states.

First I agree with a comment above, The Lord Almighty is watching this country let alone the world build steam on the roller coaster to hell.
Second molach does not deserve a capital M, false deity it is.
Third, this particular judge needs to have itself aborted…
Lord save us from this evil insanity.
