Rod Martin's fifth great grandfather: Founding Father, explorer, diplomat, & Revolutionary War hero. Today is the anniversary of his founding Martin's Station, early America's gateway to the West.
I recall reading “the Overmountain Men” and those of the Lowland later they didn't Play Well Together. As the Lowlanders looked down their noses at the ruffian "Late Comer" from over The Mountains.
As we approach the 250th Birthday of the United of the United States, it is more important than ever that we celebrate and remember a figure like your esteemed ancestor General Joseph Martin, Dr. Martin! He was a fearless backwoods man, pioneer, soldier, and champion of Native American civil rights. Martin’s Station was at the time, the Gateway to the West for 10% of the U.S. population. Martin rubbed shoulders with some of America’s founding fathers and the cream of the crop of the upper class in Virginia.
That was truely a fascinating read. Wow. Esteemed indeed. What I find interesting is the way mental capacity, intellect, productivity, and nature are handed down via hereditary traits and genetic encoding/brain capacity. I see that in your most excellent geopolitical analysis, beliefs, dedicated patriotic service, productivity and obviously intellect. I'd say, fascinatingly similar. The flesh is flesh, but the brain is organically special. It's like it comes preloaded with base firmware (gifts) from our ancestors, optimized in areas. Our brains are "swoll" in certain areas. Our creator is amazing.
No, thank you. I really do enjoy and appreciate your analysis. I have a great grandfather (Felton) that was sort of Republican businessman political guru in the early days of New Virginia, Iowa. I've always thought that was the reason I follow politics and am so opinionated, etc. Mom was and is the same way, but wasn't when I was growing up. So, politics can be toxic to follow and as a hobby after work can make one jaded and angry. I appreciate your upbeat analysis. NEWS FLASH: that's different and good! That is your superpower.
