While headlines obsess over China and Iran, the real Trump doctrine is hiding in plain sight 90 miles off the Florida coast. It's about 70 years overdue.

Cuban officials said Wednesday that the island has completely run out of fuel needed to keep much of it running, blaming a monthslong U.S. sanctions campaign that has sharply restricted fuel imports and pushed the country deeper into an already severe energy crisis.
Energy Minister Vicente de la O Levy said that the country has “absolutely nothing” left in diesel fuel and oil reserves, leaving Cuba’s fragile power grid reliant on limited domestic crude production, natural gas, and renewable energy sources that have struggled to meet demand.
With the influence of the 2 million Cuban Americans in Florida, it would make a lot more sense to make Cuba the 51st state, adding a more likely conservative bastion.
I generally agree, with the caveat that friends like Jack Wheeler report that Communism has corrupted a large percentage of the people still in Cuba. So we might end up with a Republican Florida and a Democrat Cuba.
Still, the idea is sound. And I'm not sure Jack's right on this one.
👏👏👏 An amazing article that taught me a boatload of facts that I never knew about Cuba! Kevin Cohen did an incredible job on it! Thank you, Dr. Martin for republishing it! Cuba is just 90 miles off the coast of Florida. Therefore, it has always posed a particularly potent threat to the United States. China is running air, space and maritime surveillance from the island. China, Russia, and Iran have all embedded themselves in Havana’s infrastructure, intelligence services, and foreign policy. Forging a quiet but strategic alliance against the West.
China does electronic surveillance from the island and is wiring Cuba’s digital backbone. Chinese engineers actively advised on the modernization of Cuba state data centers. Russia pledged $1.03 billion dollars to overhaul Cuba’s energy grid, agricultural sector, and transportation infrastructure. Expanded naval rotations and port access drills were also done by the Russians in Cuba. They also have revived elements of Cold War-era intelligence sharing. The former Soviet intelligence station at Lourdes has been partially reactivated. Iran signed dix bilateral agreements with Tehran. They also worked together on covert influence operation, cyber disruption, and ideological subversion. Cuba is a haven for our enemies.
The Trump administration has made it crystal clear that they intend to secure the Western Hemisphere and sweep our enemies out of Latin America. Trump was enacting the Monroe Doctrine when he arrested Nicolas Maduro and removed him from power in Venezuela. Cuba is his next target. The Communist regime in Cuba is on its last legs and the Cuban people are becoming bolder and bolder with their protests. Miguel Diaz-Canel is in big trouble! The story of U.S.-Cuban relations is one that goes back three centuries to the Spanish-American War when the United States assisted Cuba in winning its independence from Spain. However, it reserved the right to intervene in Cuba whenever it’s interests were at stake. For example, the United States reoccupied the island in 1906. The United States later backed the 1952 coup that brought Fulgencio Batista to power.
This arrangement came to an end in 1959 when Fidel Castro came to power after defeating Batista’s U.S.-backed forces and declared Cuba a Communist state. Castro became a dutiful ally and Cuba a client state of, the Soviet Union. Then came the tragic Bay of Pigs fiasco in 1961 and the harrowing Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 which is the closest humanity has ever come to nuclear annihilation. Cuba armed guerrillas throughout Latin America and even sent a proxy army to help maintain Communist rule in Angola. Castro’s brutal regime turned a thriving first-world country with better living standards than much of Europe that Spanish emigrants were lined up around the block to get into, into a third world s***hole with some of the highest abortion and suicide rates in the world that not even impoverished Haitian migrants wanted anything to do with. Hundreds of thousands of people fled Cuba on rafts for a reason.
Slaves in Cuba in 1842 actually ate better than Cubans did under the food rationing system of Castro’s regime. Fidel Castro executed thousands by firing squad, locked up more people in his gulags than Hitler and Stalin did in their first three years in power, had many more political prisoners than Apartheid South Africa did, threw Christians, Jehovah’s Witnesses and gay people into his gulags, a racist and a sexist, admired Adolf Hitler and patterned his famous “History Will Absolve Me” speech after him, was a proud supporter of international terrorism, drove out 90% of the country’s Jewish population, and destroyed the nation’s economy and healthcare system. His buddy faux revolutionary icon Ernesto “Che” Guevara was a mass murdering psychopath, racist, homophobe, Stalinist, and hypocrite who claimed to be a revolutionary man of the people while living like a dandy.
Cuba needs to be liberated and the Communists toppled not only to free its people but to prevent any of our enemies using the island to block U.S. exports from the Mississippi River or if they wanted to, they could even block the U.S. from Atlantic and Gulf approaches to the Panama Canal. Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy should have fought to liberate Cuba and topple Castro decades ago. Now, Trump is remedying that mistake. He’s standing up for the Cuban people. But things are getting better. Fidel Castro is dead, Raul Castro is out of the picture and sporadic protests against the regime have been popping up since 2021. The aforementioned protests started because of the deteriorating state of Cuba’s economy. The nation is plagued by hyperinflation, medicine shortages, the population turning to crypto to protect its wealth, and the surge in Cuban migration to the U.S. All these same conditions were in place before the U.S. militarily intervened in Venezuela.
Also, funding a Cuban version of Delcy Rodriquez to cooperate with us would NOT be hard. Nor would converting Cuba’s many riches to benefit its long-suffering people or the United States. Cuba could be a VERY rich country if it becomes a free democracy and cooperates with the United States. They would make a killing off tourism and real estate given they are a beautiful island nation with unbelievable scenery. In agriculture, they have many valuable products such as sugar and coffee and still make the best cigars in the world. They have a ton of untapped oil and natural gas reserves. Cuba holds some of the largest cobalt and nickel reserves on the face of this Earth. It also has the potential to generate a HUGE GDP growth given the island’s population and land area. Not to mention the two million wealthy Cubans living in Florida just waiting for their home country to be liberated so they can return and invest their money into it. Cuba has the potential to be one of the richest countries on the planet! The possibilities are endless for Cuba and it’s people!

California, take notice!
