Great read Rod, as you mentioned early in the read, where the apostles said who do we obey God or men, kinda sums it up for me if you know our Gods commands.
It would be interesting to know if any of the Founders or their contemporaries spoke or wrote on this. I chose not to deal with the question you raise as that decision is no longer a question; rather it is a historical relic. Thus, the thoughts of those who may have seriously wrestled with that question would be of interest. There may come a day when the question does come to us and I would appreciate the insight of those who have dealt with it.
Of course it's a question, because the same circumstances are capable of being duplicated. Nearly every country on Earth became independent after the United States, and more are even now (such as Somaliland).
As to the Founders, I'll just say this. Contemporaries widely spoke of it as "the Presbyterian revolt."
I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July, Dr. Martin! This was tremendous article that you did a great job on Dr. Martin! The American Revolution was very much Biblical and was not in any way sinful! The American Revolution was totally in line with the word of God! 🇺🇸✝️⛪️

Amen.
NO IT WAS NOT Sinful
