The world is significantly greener than it was 40 years ago, thanks to the rise in carbon dioxide. And the trend is accelerating, along with crop yields, reforestation, & even marine ecosystems.
One of the many reasons I knew that the so called Greens were never about better growing conditions. My good friend Pat Michaels started making the prediction that this would be the result of more CO2 in the atmosphere , and was vilified and attacked for it. He also was unappreciated for observing that cold weather killed many more people worldwide than the heat. He termed the term “luke warming” to describe the fact that if there was warming it would not be extreme and the apocalyptic predictions where clearly extreme,y unlikely, I was always disappointed that this nomenclature was not more widely adopted. He followed the science when it was being increasingly . First met Pat almost 40 years ago, he was both a nice guy and an optimist as well. .
Another really interesting point that Ridley highlights is that the warming has greater effect toward the polls and less toward the equator. That probably shouldn't be surprising to scientists, but it's certainly unexpected from a layperson's perspective. Generalizing warmer (which in this case means more temperate) weather further north (and south) is an enormous blessing to humanity and the entire ecosystem. Ridley is one of the few people I've ever heard mention it.
So the degree of warming is far smaller than advertised, it tends to make the planet more habitable not less, and the alleged mechanism of action (CO2) actually increases life and, presumably, biodiversity.
An excellent article by Viscount Matt Ridley! Thank you, Dr. Martin for publishing it and brining it to us! As a pragmatic environmentalist who rejects climate alarmism and the bunk science about Climate Change we’ve been fed for decades now by the corrupt scientific establishment which is based purely off speculation and fear mongering, I really resonate with Viscount Ridley’s piece. The Earth is greening from the carbon emissions produced by industrialization and fossil fuels. Forests are covering more of the Earth, the Great Barrier Reef is growing, the polar ice caps are expanding rather than melting, polar bear populations are thriving due to bans on hunting them, climate related disaster deaths are at all-time low, the temperatures in tropical regions have not significantly increased, and death rates from droughts have gone way down. These are all inconvenient facts you’d think the green movement would be celebrating but their not because they totally expose everything they’ve ever believed in as a lie and implode their whole worldview. These facts prove that scientists, politicians, activists, and celebrities have been lying to or at least misinforming us, for years. I’m not saying Climate Change isn’t real, it is. But its effects are not going to be anywhere as disastrous as scientists have long claimed. Not a single one of the ridiculous predictions Al Gore made in his garbage documentary “the Inconvenient Truth” ever came true. The only inconvenient truth is that “the Inconvenient Truth” is a load of malarkey. The former Vice President needs to give back his Nobel Prize he was awarded in 2007 ASAP and sincerely apologize for misleading the international community!
Here are some more inconvenient facts for the environmental movement. Wind and solar energy don’t work and renewable energy technology is years away from being ready if ever. There are only two kinds of renewable energy sources that are feasible, nuclear and hydro. America and other western countries shutting down nuclear plants was a major mistake that could have provided us with a plentiful supply of clean energy long ago. Fossil fuels and fracking are too important to our lives and aren’t going anywhere. Plastic straw bans are stupid, authoritarian and make no sense. Besides, paper straws are actually worse for the environment and produce more waste. Very little of the waste we produce will ever end up in the oceans or harming sea life. The electric car, lab grown meat and net-zero are all fantasies and not real solutions to environmental problems. The Trump administration reversing the “endangerment finding” is common sense and the right thing to do. Bottom-up people led solutions to Climate Change are superior to top-down government imposed solutions which end up hurting the most venerable amongst us, poor people, working-class people and farmers. Telling people to not have children to save the planet or that the world would be better without humans in it is psychotic.

Hmmm....
Thank you Sir. Even though we knew all of this decades ago it is good to remind everyone that the scam is real.
Giving up the climate change scare will be even harder than admitting the truth about COVID origins and coverups.
