This is a terrible tragedy. But these casualties are pretty low all things considered especially for our troops. This campaign has been a great success! Iran is being absolutely routed! The Iranians have blocked and mined the Straights of Hormuz. But in no time, we and the Israelis will get through. Reza Pahlavi is a hero who is working to protect his people from harm and fighting for democracy in Iran! The destruction of the Iranian air force is particularly bad for Russia and China as no one will want to buy the junk their selling anymore.
I imagine Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis must be sweating profusely and praying to Allah that some miracle will happen and their benefactors in Tehran will survive somehow without being toppled or at least, left in a significantly diminished state. China couldn’t care less, their not going to lift a finger to help Iran outside of some posturing for PR. It’s no skin off their nose if Iran is taking a beating right now. Russia is too bogged down in their quagmire of a war in Ukraine to help Iran. Maduro in Venezuela, well…let’s just say he’s all tied up right now and isn’t available. 😉 So the Islamic Republic is on their own. Couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of people! But they brought this on themselves. They chose to oppress women, ethnic, racial and religious minorities and LGBTQ+ people. They chose to fund terrorist proxies around the region. They chose to have a nuclear program. They chose to have a ballistic missile program. They chose to send drones to attack Israel. They chose to chant “Death to America! Death to England! Death to Israel!”
As for the price of oil, it has spiked at the moment and I get why that alarms people. But President Trump to his credit, recently released our reserve of 172 million barrels of oil should help with that. Plus, the Red Sea is a good alternative to sailing through the highly dangerous Straights of Hormuz. Saudi Arabia has successfully used this route to transport oil. So hope is on the horizon, we just have to be patient. The price of oil will go down in due time. Consumers will feel the pinch in the short time. But in the long term, oil prices will return to reasonable levels. While I’m skeptical that regime change will happen in Iran, Dr. Martin is right that we can’t rule the possibility of it happening out. If the Ayatollahs are toppled here’s what should happen. Iranian dissident groups should form a provisional government until free elections can be held. Iran should become a secular, democratic nation with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi as a constitutional monarch. It should immediately normalize relations with Israel and join the Abraham Accords and sign alliances and trade deals with the United States, Great Britain, France, and Germany. Iran should also be de-Islamized and turn over all regime officials to be tried for war crimes. All terrorist proxies will be defunded. It’s ballistic missile program will be dismantled. It’s nuclear program will also be dismantled. All minorities groups will be granted equal rights. Women will be liberated and granted suffrage.
