A CrossPolitic Cinedoc: Rod Martin & Megan Basham join the CrossPolitic crew for an inside look at how a leftist cabal used a fake scandal to take control of America's largest Protestant denomination.
Disobedience > Guilt > Repentance > Forgiveness. This is the divine formula for righteousness through Jesus Christ that God's grace provides. SBC leadership's abuse was abandonment of this definitive Christian doctrine by men who should have known better by all accounts of their knowledge and wisdom in their service to God, to the church institution, and to members of the body of Christ. Consequences and collateral damage were commensurate with exposed spiritual weakness stuck in guilt, not alleged sexual abuse. Initial smoke raised was evidence of a different fire, the Accuser's campaign that has raged against believers from the Beginning, and that is deceiving now even the elect.
👏👏👏 A standing ovation for a tremendous documentary! Thank you to Dr. Martin, Megan Basham and all those who participated! The Southern Baptist Church was conquered by woke leftists who first used racial guilt to control the church saying it needed to repent for its past support of slavery and racial segregation. It’s leaders said that if you’re white, you’ll be a racist until the day you die. Then they used sexual abuse to do so. Jennifer Lyell came forward and claimed that David Sills had sexually abused her during their extramarital affair together. Russell Moore and his allies on the SBC leadership board backed these allegations up 100% and accepted them as fact without any evidence or any official investigation ever having been done. Rachel Denhollander a prominent sexual abuse attorney joined the fray as well. She openly attacked the SBC for their wording in their public statement about Lyles’ allegations claiming they were condoning abuse when all they were really doing was making a note of the fact that none of this had been proven for certain. You know, due process? That pesky little fact that everyone is innocent until proven guilty in this country?
The SBC never at any time, ignored sexual abuse victims or protected sexual abusers. This was all made up out thin air by folks weaponizing sexual assault allegations for political power. That’s what this was really all about. The Bible is clear in what you do in a case like this, God instructs us to do a thorough and impartial investigation, hear out both sides and get two to three witnesses to substantiate any claims that are made. The SBC didn’t do that. They were too cowardly to. They feared this woman and what the public would think of them if they went against Rachel Denhollander. She used emotional blackmail against them. Two board members actually resigned rather than go against her. The Me Too Movement though it had some good effects, was a disaster for this country and was a witch hunt. Thousands of innocent men were accused of things they didn’t do. The Me Too Movement declares that we should “believe all women” no matter what.
That’s not how American justice nor Biblical justice works guys! Don’t out of hand dismiss women? Sure. But automatically believe them whether there’s evidence or not? That is completely absurd! Of course we shouldn’t ignore a woman who comes forward and claims she’s been abused. But they’re must also be due process and a presumption of innocence until proven otherwise for the accused. The paper trail soon emerged showing Lyell was a liar who engaged in consensual affair with a married man. She sent him fawning texts saying she couldn’t wait to see him again and he needed to hurry back to her. Clearly she was in love with him and he in love with her. There was no abuse involved in any of this. An adult woman is mature and intelligent enough to know what is and is not consensual. Rachel Denhollander meanwhile, has several conflicts of interest that were totally unethical. Even one of her biggest supporters called her out on this. The Biden Justice Department investigated what occurred at the SBC and found no evidence that any of Lyell’s allegations were true. She made it all up for attention and money. None of the heinous things she accused David Sills or Mike Stone of ever happened.
Women have agency just like men do. Sometimes, women do seduce powerful men to get what they want. That’s not s*** shaming or sexist or anything else radical feminists might try to accuse people who make this point of. It is simply a fact! Grown adult women are responsible for their own actions. The Bible says women who are victims of sexual assault or rape have a duty to cry out, so that the perpetrator will be caught and can’t hurt anyone else. The Bible holds women just as responsible as men for their actions and victims have a moral duty to come forward. We as Christians don’t ignore nor have any love for sexual abusers or rapists and neither does God. Not do we ignore sexual assault or rape survivors. But there is a procedure we follow to ensure we can get to the truth of the matter without unfairly judging the accuser or the accused. In response to this tremendous documentary, I call for the SBC to undergo comprehensive reform and for all woke leftists to be expelled from the church. As a theological liberal, I don’t want them in my church either! God despises sexual predators and rapists and they will burn in h*** after they die for their heinous crimes but guess who will be burning and suffering eternal d***nation right alongside these wicked men? The wicked women who lie about being victims of sexual assault and rape.
I just tried to purchase a used copy of Gary North's book "Crossed Fingers". Used it costs $275.00! Does anyone have a copy I could borrow and return. I'm getting ready to move from the Presbyterian PC USA to USA. I want to understand how it was done and figure out how deep this goes in Presbyterian USA already.
I am looking forward to the book by Gad Saad on the dangers of excessive or misdirected empathy. The book is titled Suicidal Empathy: Dying to Be Kind (published by Broadside Books, an imprint of HarperCollins).Release date: May 12, 2026 (it's currently available for pre-order).
Core thesis: Saad, an evolutionary behavioral scientist and author of bestsellers like The Parasitic Mind, argues that Western society (particularly progressive elites) has been infected by "suicidal empathy"—a pathological over-application of empathy that prioritizes feelings, victimhood, and compassion for wrongdoers over truth, justice, victims, safety, and common sense. This leads to harmful policies and cultural inversions, such as:
Coddling violent criminals over victims.
Prioritizing illegal migrants over citizens/veterans.
Protecting rapists or branding self-defense as toxic.
Elevating certain groups in sports/safe spaces at the expense of biological realities.
Allowing drug addicts to endanger public spaces.
He frames it as a "mind parasite" that hijacks rational decision-making, causing civilizational decline if unchecked. It's not against empathy per se, but against its irrational, maladaptive, or weaponized form that ignores consequences and survival instincts.
And to think that I attended some of these conventions and watched it play out in real time is disgraceful and disgusting. I’m sooooo grateful to you all for documenting this atrocious behavior by people who tried to fool and convince every one that they were conservative and all the while deliberately tearing down the SBC and ultimately damaging the Body of Christ.
Unfortunately, leadership in the SBC is reflective of the the culture within the local body of the church at large. I’m not saying it’s true of everyone, but it is so easy to be swept away without even realizing what is happening, and under the guise of integrity and righteousness. I appreciate those who courageously stood for biblical principles rather than the fear of men. It’s easy to sit at this vantage point and think that if I were in their place I might have stood up to confront a Denhollen type of character and dare to ask the hard, difficult questions, all the while risking my reputation but I’m not sure that I would have. I hate to say that. Of course, our Lord didn’t worry about His reputation and it led Him to the cross. Praise His Name!

Wow! That's amazing.
You can get a PDF copy from American Vision for $15. Not as good as the hardback, of course, but exactly the same content. Here's the link:

Thank you ma'am.
Shouldn’t these people -lawyers and co-conspirators be liable for restitution of these ill gotten funds?
Is that possible?
Yes. But the current EC won't act.
