Speaking as a non-Baptist, but for what it's worth, perhaps they should consider Matthew 10:16:

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves..."

Well, I am speaking as a non (ie. former SBC) baptist. From my experience it is worse than this article. My former SBC church could be expected to be conservative. Its congregation is rural/suburban quickly declining to fully suburban. When I was there 3 years ago and became aware of the SBC drift into wokism, I began to ask questions. None of my fellow members could tell me what the ERLC was or who the SBC president was. They are ignorant that all this progressive rot is eating out their denomination. The overwhelming number of SBC members are OBLIVIOUS to what is going on. They think as long as the little old widow ladies are still writing those weekly tithe checks, everything is copacetic. When you try to warn them that their tithe is more about CRT and DEI in the leadership and seminaries and not the Gospel, they blow it off as harmless politics that doesn’t affect them. Meh, when you show them NAMB has peached a false gospel of faith plus works. I don’t hold out much hope that this disturbing mood can be turned around.
