Capitalism is Clean(er)
The market responds to people's demands. But statist nations feel no sense of obligation to their citizens and no incentive to act in their interests.
Statist nations feel no sense of obligation to their citizens. In a free market system, serving the interests of others (what in the Bible is called "the golden rule") furthers one's own self interest. But a communist state takes away all such incentive (and ability). State-run agencies leave poisoned and desolate land, because they are responsible to no one, not even the marketplace. Meanwhile the hippie leftists condemn businesses for orders of magnitude less, engaging in boycotts and protests against them which would be murderously suppressed in the lands they admire.
When the Soviet Union fell, Readers Digest reported that that 'people's democracy" had dumped radioactive waste in 283 separate sites within the city limits of Moscow alone. Some of these sites were in children's parks. They just didn't care. Kevin Williamson reports on other things they didn't -- and other socialists like them today don't -- care about. — RDM
